How To Get More Blogging Done In (WAY) Less Time

As a new mom, juggling about 400 things at once has become my new normal.
(Blogger moms, I know you feel me! 😅)
Between squeezing in four hours of sleep, catching up on all the baby books, cleaning bottles, and running to doctor appointments,
I’m also managing several businesses:
- My niche websites (B2C)
- My travel blogging course + coaching business (B2B)
(And let’s be real… the endless stream of new business ideas I really have to resist starting… serial entrepreneur? Guilty!)
Over time, I’ve developed systems within my businesses that help me get through my weekly tasks, but recently, I’ve created several “flywheels” that help me save even more time.
What is a flywheel?
Instead of trying to explain it, I’m going to show you my current flywheel below, and optional add-ons to this flywheel:

STEP #1: Keyword research (Google OR Pinterest keyword research)
The very first thing I do is keyword research, whether I’m writing a blog post specifically for Google searchers or Pinterest users.
I need to verify that the topic I’m going to write about is being searched for on the internet, otherwise I will have no readers!
Quick Tip: There are free Google keyword tools, or try a low-cost option like Keysearch. For Pinterest, I recommend PinClicks, which offers a free trial here!

STEP #2: Write the Blog Post
Once I’ve chosen a keyword, I start crafting a blog post around it. I’ll dive deeper into my writing process another time, but here’s the gist. I make sure each post is:
- Directly relevant to the chosen topic
- Genuinely helpful (offering something unique compared to other posts)
- Easy to read
STEP #3: Repurpose the Blog Post into an Email Newsletter
Next, I pull key points or highlights from my blog post to create an engaging email newsletter.
I want to be clear… I don’t just copy the whole post.
Instead of copying the entire post, I choose valuable points to keep the email concise and engaging. I leave the rest on the blog with a call-to-action for readers to check out the full post.
Important note: I typically include several different “sections” within my newsletter, similar to how I do it in this newsletter.

(Tip: You can also do the reverse by starting with an email newsletter and then turning it into a blog post!)
STEP #4: Pin Every Image to Pinterest
After creating your email newsletter, schedule each image from your blog post as a pin on Pinterest. It doesn’t have to be a fancy, designed pin from Canva (though having a few of those also helps!).
Simple image pins work well, too, as they capture attention and link back to your content.
Plus, this keeps your Pinterest strategy easy!
(Optional) STEP #5: Post on Facebook
I’m typically not a social media kind of blogger.
In fact, I still mostly ignore my nearly 14k followers on Instagram because I don’t see the ROI (return on investment).
Does it work for others? Sure, maybe. But it has never worked for me.
But something I have been dabbling in lately to diversify traffic even more is Facebook.
Facebook groups, Facebook pages, I’ve seen bloggers succeed MASSIVELY with both.
Like my friend, Sarah Chant, who is the Facebook groups expert. I wouldn’t take advice about Facebook groups from anyone but her! Follow her information here!
So, I take my blog post and schedule a few posts for my Facebook page, giving it a shot to see if it drives more engagement and traffic.
Although this seems like a LOT of work, this succession of tasks is actually quite easy and certainly saves me a lot of time.
