5 Most Underrated Countries Around The World

Off-the-beaten-path destinations are the best for finding places you don’t see plastered all over Instagram.

These are the spots where you can skip the crowds, experience something totally unique, and come home with stories no one else is telling.

So today, I’m diving into 5 of the most underrated countries in the world; places that fly under the radar but are packed with incredible adventures and breathtaking landscapes.

1. Montenegro

Montenegro is one of my all-time favorite places ever.

From the fjords of Kotor to the beaches of Tivat and the rugged mountains of Durmitor National Park, Montenegro feels like a mini Europe all in one.

It’s absolutely stunning, incredibly affordable, and full of charm.

2. Namibia

This one’s still on my bucket list, but the dramatic sand dunes of Sossusvlei and the wildlife of Etosha National Park make it a dream destination.

3. Oman

If you love adventure, Oman is a MUST!

I know many travelers shy away from off-the-beaten-path destinations, and some might hesitate to explore countries in the Middle East.

But avoiding this region means missing out on some of the most beautiful places on Earth.

Oman is welcoming, safe, and absolutely awe-inspiring, with adventures like hiking Wadi Shab, camping under the stars in the desert, and exploring ancient forts.

4. Andorra

Most people have heard of this country, but few know much about it.

Nestled in the Pyrenees between France and Spain, Andorra is a mountain lover’s paradise (which is exactly why I’ve included it on this list!)

It’s a little pricey, but the views and endless outdoor activities are so worth it.

5. Liechtenstein

Do you know about Liechtenstein?

If not, you should!

Tiny but mighty, Liechtenstein is packed with alpine beauty and postcard-perfect villages. It might cost you a bit more, but this European fairytale is unmatched.

A clever way to save money on travel is by using the flight aggregator Skiplagged. What sets Skiplagged apart is its ability to uncover “hidden city” flights; where skipping a leg of the journey can lead to significant savings.

What does that even mean?

Here’s an example: Let’s say you’re flying from Detroit to Miami, and the direct flight costs $245 one-way. But Skiplagged finds another flight from Detroit to Houston with a layover in Miami for just $187.

To save money (often a lot of it), you simply hop off the plane in Miami and skip the second leg to Houston.
