How To Book Hotels At The Cheapest Rate Worldwide
• Originally broadcast via email on November 4, 2024 •
You’ve probably heard me say this before, but one of my absolute favorite things is scoring the best travel deals out there.
Whether it’s finding amazing accommodations, nabbing affordable flights, or uncovering those hidden gems in every destination, I’m all about traveling smart without breaking the bank.
… I mean.. aren’t we all?
Over the years, I’ve gathered some go-to tricks for enjoying luxury travel without the hefty price tag. Today, I’ll let you in on my favorite ways to score amazing hotel deals, so you can book the perfect stay without blowing your budget.
To get started, you’ll want to head over to my go-to hotel site: Booking.com.
>> Click here to open Booking.com and follow along with these insider tips to find the best deals!
TIP #1: Check for Last-Minute and Early Bird Discounts
On the homepage, scroll down to find a section called “Offers”. There will be a few options to choose, but for this tip, you’ll click on “Find Late Escape Deals”.
These deals will offer 15% off or more if you book your stay within a certain timeframe.
Here’s a sweet example (and it’s in French Polynesia 😍):
This hotel is offering you a room for $172 per night when it’s normally $255 per night. Not bad, eh?
TIP #2: Check for “Genius Level” Discounts
Booking.com offers a loyalty program for any user and it’s completely free. If you regularily book your stays through their platform, you’ll receive all kinds of perks.
Here are the perks we get from Booking.com by using it often:
- 10-20% discount on stays
- 10% off rental cars
- Free breakfasts
- Free room upgrades
- Priority support on stays
Again, this program is free; all you need to do is register for a Booking.com account (literally just put in your email address and you’re all set – no frills, no surprises) and you’re all set.
You can do this by clicking “Sign in or register” on their pop-up or choose “Register” in the top right corner of the page. Easy peasy!
TIP #3: Use the “I’m flexible” Tab
We’ve talked about being flexible with your travel plans before and how it can save you a lot of money.
And the same is true for accommodations when booking through Booking.com.
Below, you’ll see how to click over from Calendar view to “I’m flexible”. Choose how long you’d like for your trip to be and when you want to go.
From here, Booking.com will show you all the best deals for your destination during the specific timeframe and filters you provided.
TIP #4: “Book Now, Pay Later” Options + Price Matching
Here’s my last tip for today, and this is one that many people don’t know about.
The first thing you’ll do is search the destination and timeframe you’d like to stick to for your next holiday.
Once you’re on the accommodation results page, scroll down until you find “Free Cancellation” as a filter in the left side menu. Choose this option.
Book a place that offers free cancellation.
Then, as your vacation approaches, start checking the price of that same accommodation option in Booking.com to see if prices have fluctuated.
If you notice that the price of your hotel, resort, or vacation rental has decreased, cancel your first booking and rebook at the new lower price.
BOOM! You’ve saved yourself some money!
