Bora Bora Travel Tip #1
They say that visiting Bora Bora is best during dry season, which runs from May until October, but we’ve always visited in November and December and had a great time. You’ll likely experience more sunny days during dry season, but don’t rule out other months for visiting either.

Many people assume that a flight to Bora Bora will cost tens of thousands of dollars, but that’s not the case! First, book a direct flight from Los Angeles to Tahiti, which can be as cheap as $750 roundtrip. From there, catch a quick flight from Tahiti to Bora Bora for about $300 roundtrip.
Bora Bora Travel Tip #3
When packing for your trip to French Polynesia, pack all the necessary beach-related things, but don’t forget: mosquito repellent, reef-safe sunscreen, and water shoes!

Bora Bora Travel Tip #6: Fun Facts
- Bora Bora is called the “Pearl of the Pacific”. With its stunning scenery, vibrant turquoise waters, and lush greenery, it’s easy to see why this island is considered one of the world’s most iconic paradise destinations.
- The island’s actual name is Pora Pora in Tahitian, meaning “firstborn.” The French misunderstood the pronunciation when they arrived, and it’s been called Bora Bora ever since!
- The towering Mount Otemanu, which reaches 2,385 feet, is the remnant of an extinct volcano. Hiking it offers incredible views of the lagoon and surrounding islands.
