This $250/Night Overwater Bungalow in Norway Has Unreal Fjord Views
One of my favorite things about travel is discovering incredible places to stay. I’ve experienced everything from luxury resorts to hidden gems, but few have stuck with me like this overwater bungalow in the Norwegian fjords.
If you’ve ever dreamed of staying in an overwater retreat, but thought it was only possible in tropical destinations like the Maldives or Bora Bora, think again!
This fjordside getaway in Aurland, Norway delivers the same breathtaking experience, with jaw-dropping views, for a fraction of the price.
A Hidden Gem in the Fjords
📍Aurland, Norway
In 2019, we discovered this incredible overwater bungalow, and it quickly became one of our favorite stays ever. Nestled right on the edge of the fjord, this 3-bedroom home sleeps up to 6 people and costs only $250 per night—an absolute steal for Norway!
You can book your stay at this epic 3-bedroom home here.
Head’s up… it only has one bathroom, but if you plan for it, you can easily fit 6-7 people.
There’s also another bungalow *exactly* like this one next door. If you have a large group of people and you’d like to venture to Aurland for this incredible stay, consider renting BOTH cabins.
What Makes This bungalow So Special?
- Overwater Views: The house sits directly on the fjord, offering unobstructed water views from nearly every angle. Sit on the deck for happy hour, or practice yoga as the sunrises.
- Surrounded by Nature: Wake up to towering mountains and crystal-clear waters right outside your window.
- Spacious & Cozy: With three bedrooms and a fully-equipped kitchen, it’s perfect for families or a group of friends.
- Relax by the Fireplace: Norway can be chilly, but this cozy home has a fireplace to keep you warm while you enjoy the view.
- Outdoor Adventures: The best part is its proximity to outdoor activities. Go kayaking, hiking, or take a scenic fjord cruise right from your front door.
What to Know Before You Go
- It Only Has One Bathroom – With space for 6 people, sharing might take some planning.
- Book Early! – This spot is popular, especially in the summer, so make sure to grab your dates in advance.
- Travel Insurance is a Must – Norway isn’t the cheapest place to visit, and Airbnb policies can be unpredictable. I always recommend booking with good travel insurance just in case.
We recommend SafetyWing for travel insurance. It’s one of the cheapest and most dependable companies. We use it ourselves.
